Adult Tuition and Cost of Classes:
Dr. Kumara Sidhartha’s Latin Dance Class + Social
Saturday January 28th from 6-9pm at Danceport. $20
Kumara Sidhartha MD MPH grew up in India, immersed in a rich culture of ancient classical dance and energetic Bollywood beats. This diverse background sparked his passion for dance, which eventually led him to the world of Latin dancing.
As the winner of the People’s Choice Award at the Dancing with the Docs competition in 2018, Dr. Sidhartha brings a unique blend of expertise and enthusiasm to his Latin dance classes. His instructions in Salsa and Bachata are grounded in a deep understanding of human anatomy, body mechanics, and musicality. Known for his easy-to-follow teaching style, Dr. Sidhartha ensures that his students not only learn dance movements but also have fun in the process.
Dr. Sidhartha is an affiliate artist with the Movements Artists of Cape Cod. He also contributes to the Cape Cod Latin Dance organized by the New England Wellness Foundation, sharing his love for dance with the community.

Amy Hatch - Head to Toe Yoga
Thursdays from 11-12:30pm
Amy Hatch is a longtime yogi and certified yoga teacher with over two decades of teaching experience across Massachusetts, including yoga studios, gyms, chiropractic offices, homes, and schools.
Drawing from years of study and participation in many yoga styles, she created her signature class, Head to Toe Yoga, a mindful full-body practice that integrates yogic breath and awareness.
A favorite among her Cape Cod students, her class is designed to support strength, mobility, and balance from start to finish.
Shoes and Attire

Latin Ballroom:
Footwear: Indoor shoes with no hard soles.
If wearing heals : Character shoes or ballroom heels with wide, rubberized heel bases only.
Danceport provides a highly specialized sprung marley dance floor.
Prohibited footwear includes:
Stilettos or narrow heels – high pressure points can puncture or dent marley
Hard plastic or metal heel tips
Street shoes worn from outside (grit + small stones scratch the surface)
Fashion heels, boots with heels
Character heels without proper rubber heel caps
Any heel with sharp edges or worn-down tips

Shoes:
Black Oxford Tap Shoe by Theatricals, Bloch or Capezio.
How to prep taps:
Check for burrs (run your finger lightly along the tap edge).
Use a metal file or fine sandpaper
Smooth the perimeter of the toe tap
Smooth the heel tap
Tighten all screws
Use a proper screwdriver
Loose taps scratch floors faster
Check periodically (weekly)
Especially younger dancers — their screws loosen fastest.
Clothing:
T-Shirt, Tank Top or Athletic Top
Wearing Layers is Recommended
Mid to high waisted leggings, joggers, flare pant, studio pant or sweat pants.

Comfortable clothes you can groove, stretch and move in.
Class will alternatively wear sneakers and socks. Sneakers used on dance floor must be only used at studio. Black quarter crew socks in brands like under-armor, adidas or nike are recommend.
Bring a mat to stretch on if you prefer.

Attire:
Athetic top. tank, T-shirt or leotard.
Leggings, joggers or tights with leotard. Warm ups are welcomed.
Optional ballet skirt.

Hair should be secured off the neck in a bun, clip or pony tail.
